Most people feel the need for security in their life, but most societal structures offering security are falling apart, e.g. the families, jobs, the social systems, ... When the outer security seems to vanish, we might turn inward, as well as straight to the other to find a spot where we can feel save enough feel free in the world.

Surly Steiner’s “Philosophy of Freedom” doesn’t belong to post-modern philosophy, since the postmodernism started in the 60s mainly in France. But a comparison can deepen the understanding of both, and maybe we’ll find similarities. After a short introduction some short texts will speak to us by themselves.

Today’s anarchy is mainly related to chaos and terror. But around the time when Steiner published his “Philosophy of Freedom” he considered himself also as an individualistic anarchist. How can the idea of anarchy help us today on the way to a free society?

 Heiko was born in 1973. After his school years he traveled in Europe, India, Africa and Brazil. He spent time at the Geotheanum working on the stage and studied Eurythmy in Sao Paulo. He then moved on to studies in philosophy and psychology in Munich, where he was actively involved in organizing youth conferences in 2006 and 2007.
